According to the US IT media outlet CNET, Verizon has decided to acquire Bluegrass, which provides wireless services to about 210,000 people in three rural areas of Kentucky, USA.
The acquisition of Bluegrass is aimed at expanding the network in rural areas of the United States, and this decision was made just one month after Verizon acquired Tracfone, the largest MVNO company in the US, for $6.25 billion (approximately 7 trillion KRW).
Ronan Dunn, Vice President of Verizon, said, "We are pleased to expand our presence in the Kentucky region through the acquisition of Bluegrass," adding, "We will provide reliable wireless services."
Bluegrass had signed a mutual roaming agreement with Verizon in 2010.
