[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seocho-gu announced that it will hold the humanities lecture "Different Academy" featuring Professor Kim Hyung-seok on the 20th, co-hosted with the Seocho Cultural Center.
"Different Academy" is a program that invites experts from various fields such as humanities, arts, economics, and history to present high-quality humanities lectures. Due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation, the lectures are currently being conducted online.
This lecture will be held under the theme "The Meaning of Living" by Professor Emeritus Kim Hyung-seok of Yonsei University’s Department of Philosophy, who is known as one of Korea's first-generation philosophers.
Having turned 100 years old this year, he studied in the same class as poet Yun Dong-ju and personally attended lectures by Dosan Ahn Chang-ho, making him a living witness to 100 years of history.
In-depth lectures on life will be presented, covering topics such as "How is self-completion possible?", "The relationship between life and work," and "Humanism and patriotic social participation."
The lectures will be broadcast on the 20th, 22nd, and 24th at 9:00 AM, 12:30 PM, and 5:00 PM via Hyundai HCN Seocho Broadcasting, and can be rewatched on the Seocho Cultural Center’s official YouTube channel on the 27th.
