Response to Assemblyman Usangbeom's Inquiry at the National Audit

Park Soon-chul, Chief Prosecutor of Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office.

[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seok-jin] Park Soon-cheol, head of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office responsible for the investigation related to Lime Asset Management, stated on the 19th during the National Assembly audit, "There were no reports or testimonies related to prosecutor corruption in the investigation records."

During the National Assembly audit of the Seoul High Prosecutors' Office and its subordinate prosecutors' offices held by the Legislation and Judiciary Committee, Park responded this way to a question from Yoo Sang-beom, a member of the People Power Party.

Yoo questioned that Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol was not involved in the Lime case investigation and first asked Park, "When did you become aware of the report about prosecutors receiving bribes?"

Park replied, "I learned about it from a news report last Friday."

Then Yoo asked Park, "Was there any report or testimony about this in the investigation records before that?"

Park answered, "After the article was published, we internally checked with the investigation team and understood that there was no mention related to prosecutor corruption in connection with the Lime incident."

Following this, Yoo pointed out, "Regarding this case, aside from the level of command when Prosecutor General Yoon was briefed, nothing else influenced this investigation, right?" and asked, "Was there anything while the chief prosecutor was present?" Park replied, "After the briefing on August 31, there was nothing special."
