[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] There have been repeated incidents of the Apple Watch SE screen burning while being used or charged.

On the 19th, posts were continuously uploaded on domestic consumer forums such as the Naver iPhone Cafe, reporting that the Apple Watch SE screen became hot and turned yellow due to burning.

A consumer, Mr. A, who purchased the Apple Watch SE, explained, "While wearing the Apple Watch SE, my wrist became hot and the screen burned yellow. The heat lasted for more than two hours, and the battery gradually drained until it turned off."

Another buyer, Mr. B, posted that "less than three days after purchase, the Apple Watch SE screen turned yellow and became extremely hot during charging," along with a photo showing soot marks on the upper part of the screen.

The model involved in the fire incidents is the Apple Watch SE 40mm Space Gray model. Buyers reported the fire incidents to Apple service centers, but it is known that they have not received specific information about compensation procedures. Buyer Mr. A pointed out, "Fortunately, no one was injured, but it is Apple's duty to inform about the defect in the Apple Watch SE to prevent greater damage to others."

Online communities commonly speculate that the point of ignition is related to a hardware defect involving the power supply. Some netizens are refunding or canceling their purchases. One user said, "Except when charging, I wear the smartwatch even while sleeping, but now I am worried about heat or burns." Other users commented, "I need to practice how to take off the watch quickly."
