[Asia Economy Reporter Geum Bo-ryeong] On the 19th, the KOSPI slightly rose, maintaining the 2340 level.


On this day, the KOSPI index closed at 2346.74, up 5.21 points (0.22%) from the previous session.


The KOSPI opened at 2352.17, up 11.39 points (0.49%) from the previous trading day, and continued its upward trend steadily.


In the KOSPI market, foreigners and institutions net bought 47.2 billion KRW and 297.6 billion KRW respectively. Meanwhile, individuals net sold 352.2 billion KRW.


By sector, textiles and apparel (2.96%), machinery (2.98%), and distribution (1.87%) rose, while chemicals (1.27%) and transportation equipment (1.55%) declined.


Among the top 10 companies by market capitalization, Samsung Electronics (0.84%) and SK Hynix (1.64%) rose, but NAVER (2.56%), LG Chem (3.91%), Hyundai Motor (2.33%), and Kakao (1.26%) fell.


The KOSDAQ closed at 822.25, down 11.59 points (1.39%) from the previous day.


The KOSDAQ opened at 836.83, up 2.99 points (0.36%) from the previous trading day, showing fluctuations before widening its decline after 12:20 PM.


In the KOSDAQ market, individuals and foreigners net bought 86.4 billion KRW and 26.5 billion KRW respectively, while institutions net sold 102.8 billion KRW.


By sector, textiles and apparel (0.23%) and distribution (0.62%) rose, while metals (1.79%), general electric and electronics (2.16%), and software (2.06%) declined.


Among the top market cap stocks, Celltrion Healthcare (2.16%) and Pearl Abyss (0.19%) rose, but Seegene (2.5%), HLB (3.46%), Alteogen (4.12%), and Kakao Games (1.74%) fell.
