[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] The People Power Party criticized the Ministry of Unification's move to resume Panmunjom tours as a "backlash against public sentiment."

On the 19th, Bae Jun-young, spokesperson for the People Power Party, said, "While the government was busy defending North Korea by claiming that it shot a distressed person as part of COVID-19 quarantine measures, it now says it will open everything to us."

The Ministry of Unification decided to resume Panmunjom tours next month, which had been suspended due to African Swine Fever (ASF) and the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Spokesperson Bae said, "Even though our citizens were brutally killed and incinerated (燒?·burned to ashes), the Coast Guard is still only searching in the vast ocean, and despite the worst inter-Korean relations, the Ministry of Unification says it will resume Panmunjom tours next month," adding, "They even proposed a revision to simplify the procedures for our citizens to contact North Korean residents. They have become a stooge in the Blue House's efforts to create a mood for a declaration of the end of the war."

He pointed out, "They intend to ignore the concerns of international organizations and farmers about the ongoing African Swine Fever in North Korea," adding, "The responsibility of the state begins with protecting the lives, safety, and property of its citizens. Minister of Unification Lee In-young should reread the preamble of the Constitution and devote himself to state affairs."
