A Gathering to Share 'Success DNA' with Women Leaders

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyewon Kim] The '2020 Asia Women Leaders Forum' hosted by Asia Economy will open on the 28th.

Marking its 9th year, this forum, held under the theme 'Noble Spirit, Courage of Leaders,' will bring together over 30 female mentors who are active in politics, academia, and industry, along with about 120 female mentees aspiring to be next-generation leaders, to share the value of women’s leadership. Due to the government’s social distancing guidelines for COVID-19 prevention, the scale of the forum has been reduced compared to previous years, but much attention has been paid to enhancing its substance.

The keynote speech of this forum will be delivered by Professor Hyun Taek-hwan, Chair Professor at Seoul National University and Director of the Nano Particle Research Group at the Institute for Basic Science, who was the first Korean nominated for the Nobel Prize in Chemistry this year. Professor Hyun’s masterful lecture titled 'Life and Nano Stories' is expected to receive focused attention.

Jin-Hyung Lee, a brain science expert and the first Korean woman to receive tenure at Stanford University, Professor of Neuro and Bioengineering at Stanford University; Hyung-Joo Park, President of Ajou University known as a 'mathematician who teaches, researches, and writes'; and Jae-Won Lee, CEO of XYZ Venture Partners, who received the Outstanding Talent Award for leading the 21st century, will share stories about the impact of critical decision-making by leaders in times of crisis.

Former Supreme Court Justice and popular creator Il-Hwan Park, currently a senior counsel at Barun Law LLC, will provide a clear definition of 'People, Coolness, and Leaders' together with National Assembly members Hyang-Ja Yang and Eun-Hye Kim.

Asia Economy will also hold the '5th Asia Women Index Awards' ceremony on the same day. The event will recognize companies that actively enhance women’s competitiveness and foster women’s leadership, providing an opportunity to share successful DNA.
