Line Works → Naver Works Brand Change "Targeting Domestic B2B Market"

[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Works Mobile, a subsidiary of Naver responsible for business messengers, announced on the 19th that it will change the Line Works brand to 'Naver Works' in Korea.

The company explained that this change aims to adopt the more familiar 'Naver' brand rather than 'Line' domestically and plans to actively target the domestic B2B (business-to-business) market. In Japan, the Line Works brand will be maintained as part of a multi-brand strategy.

Works Mobile first entered the Japanese B2B market in early 2016 with the mobile-centric collaboration solution 'Line Works' and achieved industry No. 1 within two years by significantly outpacing the native Japanese brand 'Chatwork' and the global brand 'Slack Japan.'

Naver Works provides enterprise services utilizing Naver Cloud's global infrastructure. All of Naver's global affiliates have been using it for work for over 10 years. Currently, about 100,000 global customers, including domestic companies such as Woongjin, Daewoong Pharmaceutical, Ildong Pharmaceutical, SK Shipping, and MBC, as well as companies in Japan, China, Europe, and the United States, are using Naver Works.

Domestically, Works Mobile has quickly responded to market changes by providing free support for business messengers (Lite product) to overcome COVID-19 in the first half of the year and opening free products for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), including Smart Store sellers. Additionally, it has been selected as a supplier company for the 'K-Non-face-to-face Voucher Project' to support SMEs' non-face-to-face work and is actively participating in SME support.

Kyeong Seongmin, Head of Services at Works Mobile, said, "Naver Works focuses on product stability and ease of use so that most work can be done with just the mobile app. Providing many services such as mail, messenger, calendar, and drive safely on the cloud is Naver's unique competitiveness," adding, "We will soon introduce high-quality video conferencing and collaboration function upgrades for small and medium-sized enterprises that cannot invest heavily in digital innovation."
