Seongbuk-gu Provides Up to 1 Million Won in Emergency Living Expenses for Vulnerable Households

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) is starting on-site registration for the 'Emergency Living Support Fund for Vulnerable Households' to assist residents of Seongbuk-gu who have suffered from COVID-19 but fall into the blind spots of support and have not received help.

Applications for the Emergency Living Support Fund are being accepted through the Bokjiro website. Residents who are not familiar with online applications can use on-site registration. From the 19th, applicants can visit their local community service center to apply.

Both online and on-site applications are available until October 30. However, to ensure smooth processing, a 5-day rotation system based on the last digit of the birth year is in place. On Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, on-site applications are not accepted.

The Emergency Living Support Fund targets households whose income has decreased by 25% or more due to the impact of COVID-19, whose total household income is 75% or less of the median income standard, and whose assets are below 600 million KRW.

Those already receiving existing welfare benefits (basic livelihood benefits or emergency livelihood benefits), recipients of the Emergency Employment Stability Support Fund, Small Business New Hope Fund, Closed Store Re-challenge Incentive Fund, Worker Employment Retention Support Fund, participants in the Youth Special Employment Support Program, and job seeker allowance recipients are excluded.

The support fund will be paid once in cash to the account applied for between November and December. The living support amounts are ▲400,000 KRW for single-person households ▲600,000 KRW for two-person households ▲800,000 KRW for three-person households ▲1,000,000 KRW for households of four or more.
