[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Chang-won] The official blog of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province has surpassed 10 million cumulative visitors.

On the 18th, Jeju Province announced that since the beginning of this year, the official provincial blog has been receiving an average of 7,000 visitors per day and 150,000 visitors per month.

The official Jeju Province blog was launched in September 2015 and directly produces and promotes useful Jeju news for residents and tourists through photos, videos, and card news.

Especially amid the COVID-19 situation, the official blog shone brightly. It provided real-time information on confirmed cases and movement routes in the Jeju area, and disseminated Jeju Special Self-Governing Province’s response measures and support policies such as the suspension of visa-free entry, introduction of special entry procedures, and testing support.

The post that received the most enthusiastic response from blog visitors was the ‘Jeju-type Emergency Disaster Living Support Fund Guide,’ which generated 204 real-time Q&A exchanges.

Jeju Province currently operates eight official social network channels including the blog, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, posting more than 2 to 3 posts daily. The number of posts increased by more than 33%, from 2,519 last year to nearly 3,367.

In particular, the YouTube channel officially operated by Jeju Province recorded 7,640 subscribers and a cumulative view count of 2,401,316, ranking third in subscriber ratio relative to population after Gyeongsangbuk-do and Seoul Special City.

Due to these achievements, Jeju Province received the Grand Prize for the Public Sector of Metropolitan Local Governments at the Korea SNS Awards last September, earning the top honor for three consecutive years since 2018.

Ko Kyung-ho, Public Relations Officer of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, stated, “We will continue to strive to provide more accurate and prompt guidance on the life-oriented policies of the 7th Jeju Provincial Government.”
