Financial Supervisory Service Opens Applications for Support of Practical Finance Courses at Universities for First Semester Next Year

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyo-jin] The Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) announced on the 19th that it is accepting applications from universities nationwide for support of the 'Practical Finance' course for the first semester of 2021.

Applications are open from today until December 31. Universities can apply for textbooks, professor materials, and exclusive resources for regular online courses through the FSS Financial Education Center website.

If a university wishes, FSS staff with expertise and field experience will directly visit to conduct lectures.

All students enrolled in the Practical Finance course will receive a free copy of the 'Practical Finance for University Students' textbook developed by the FSS.

If a university offers the Practical Finance course with its own staff, supplementary materials such as standard lecture notes for professors will be provided.

For universities that want to open regular online Practical Finance courses, exclusive lecture videos and learning materials for online courses will be provided.

Practical Finance refers to practical financial knowledge useful in daily life, including understanding financial products, debt and credit management, pensions, insurance, and financial consumer protection systems.

The FSS has been providing such support to universities offering Practical Finance courses since 2016.

In the second semester of this year, support was provided to 82 courses at 77 universities nationwide, with about 5,200 students currently enrolled.
