Kang Ki-jung, Kim Bong-hyun Statement Includes Prosecutor and Lawyer Accusations: "Conspiring to Frame Me"

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Former Blue House Senior Secretary for Political Affairs Kang Ki-jeon announced that he will file a complaint against the prosecutor and lawyer mentioned in the prison statement of Kim Bong-hyun (46, detained), former chairman of Star Mobility, who has been identified as the de facto financier of the 'Lime Asset Management scandal.'

On the 18th, Kang, through his social network service (SNS), said, "The prosecution says they will analyze my GPS records. I welcome that," adding, "I will file a complaint against an unidentified prosecutor B and lawyer A, who are known to have conspired to frame me, for abuse of authority and violation of the Attorney-at-Law Act." Kang plans to submit the complaint to the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office on the morning of the 19th.

The unidentified prosecutor B and lawyer A appear in the prison statement publicly disclosed on the 16th by Kim through his lawyer. Kim claimed, "In July last year, through former official lawyer A, I provided about 10 million won worth of alcohol entertainment to three active prosecutors," and "The former official lawyer A said, 'If you catch ruling party politicians and Blue House Senior Secretary for Political Affairs Kang Ki-jeon, I will report to Yoon Seok-yeol (Prosecutor General) and arrange for bail so that you can stand trial.'

Earlier, on the 8th, Kim testified at the trial of Lee Kang-se (58, detained), CEO of Star Mobility, stating that "I thought 50 million won was delivered to former Senior Secretary Kang through CEO Lee." Recently, during an interview with Kim, the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office reportedly presented Kang's GPS records from late July last year and inquired about the circumstances before and after.
