◆Greenhouse at the End of the Earth= Kim Choyeop's first full-length novel, following her short story collection "If We Cannot Travel at the Speed of Light," which sold over 140,000 copies last year. The story is set in a distant future world where a mass extinction once occurred due to "The Dust." The Dust refers to a type of dust that causes fatal damage to living organisms. The narrative begins after The Dust has ended and civilization has been rebuilt. It then traces back to reveal the truths of the era when the mass extinction took place. (Kim Choyeop / Giant Books)
◆The Thunder's Trail= Written by Rebecca Roanhorse, who won the Hugo and Nebula Awards for "Welcome to Your Authentic Indian Experience™." Her new work, "The Thunder's Trail," is based on Native American legends and depicts a world after a climate catastrophe. A massive flood caused by climate change has submerged much of the land. Wars over resources have broken out, leaving only protected areas in the southwestern region of North America as one of the few remaining safe zones. The protagonist, Maggie Hoskie, is a monster hunter who awakens to the "Clan Power" passed down through her tribal bloodline. One day, a girl is kidnapped by a monster unlike any Maggie has ever seen, and she sets out to track down the creature's identity. ◆Winter Scene= A new full-length novel by Kim Umji, who debuted in 2010 with the "Literature and Society" Newcomer Award. The protagonist, R, suffered a fall accident eight months ago. However, R cannot remember how the accident happened or where his wife disappeared to. R has lost his memory and does not even know which memories are missing. One day, while traveling with his wife, he accidentally meets one of her classmates, and the next morning he wakes up to find his wife gone and himself alone. In addition to the novel, the book includes Kim Umji's essay "A Few Days." (Written by Kim Umji / Jakga Jeongsin)
