Proving Competitiveness in China and Emerging Markets: Latest Technology-Integrated Flagship Model
Scheduled for Global Sales Including Europe and North America
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyewon] Doosan Infracore's ultra-large excavator makes its debut in the Korean market.
Doosan Infracore announced on the 18th that it will begin domestic sales of the 80-ton class excavator DX800LC. The DX800LC is the largest model in Doosan Infracore's excavator lineup.
The DX800LC is Doosan Infracore's flagship model, incorporating the latest technology. It was selected as one of the 'Top 15 Industrial Technology Achievements of 2019' by the National Academy of Engineering of Korea, recognized as an excellent technology product representing the Korean industry.
The DX800LC is more than 13 times larger than the 5-ton class excavator (DX55-5K), which is the best-selling model domestically for Doosan Infracore. The bucket capacity for soil is 4.64㎥, nearly 27 times larger than that of the DX55-5K (0.175㎥).
According to Doosan Infracore, this excavator applies the independently developed electronic integrated hydraulic system called 'Smart Power Control,' which offers excellent operational performance and fuel efficiency. It can optimally distribute hydraulic power as needed for each operating part and minimizes unnecessary hydraulic operation during standby, resulting in high productivity. Additionally, it applies world-class engine after-treatment technology, making it environmentally friendly.
In terms of durability and safety, numerous technologies befitting a flagship model have been applied. Features such as the Intelligent Boom function, which mitigates operational shocks applied to the equipment, and AVM (All-around View Monitoring), which provides a 360-degree view around the equipment, have been installed to enhance safety.
The 'DoosanCONNECT™' solution, which remotely monitors construction equipment location information, operating status, and key component conditions, is provided as a standard service, supporting equipment maintenance with advanced Internet of Things (IoT) technology.
The global ultra-large excavator market for 80-ton class models is about 1,000 units annually. Most of the market consists of raw material mining customers such as coal and gold mines. Doosan Infracore has proven product competitiveness by expanding sales over the past three years since the first launch of the DX800LC in China and emerging markets. Along with the launch of the Korean model, customized models for each region will be introduced in the European and North American markets.
A Doosan Infracore official said, "Along with strong performance in the mini excavator market under 5 tons and strengthening of the existing medium and large lineup, we are accelerating market penetration across the entire excavator lineup, including the global launch of high-profit ultra-large products." He added, "With the flagship model DX800LC, which symbolizes technological prowess, we will solidify our position as a leading company in global markets."
