[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] The Win-Win Growth Committee announced on the 18th that it has signed the 'Innovation-Driven Wage Gap Resolution Agreement' together with SK General Chemical and its partner small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The signing ceremony was held on the 16th at SK General Chemical in Jongno, Seoul. SK General Chemical plans to operate an innovation-driven win-win cooperation program worth a total of 73.5 billion KRW over the next three years for the employees of partner SMEs to resolve the wage gap by strengthening the technological competitiveness of these SMEs.
Support will be provided through a self-established win-win fund for wage support to partner SMEs, provision of office and workspace, technology development support, productivity improvement support, hosting job fairs, overseas expansion support, fostering startup companies, and establishing a win-win growth fund.
Kwon Ki-hong, Chairman of the Win-Win Growth Committee, evaluated SK General Chemical as "a model company that has been striving to invest in technology development with partner SMEs and create an eco-friendly ecosystem, receiving the highest grade in the Win-Win Growth Index for eight consecutive years."
Chairman Kwon said, "Despite the difficult internal and external business environment due to COVID-19, I expect this agreement to fully embody the purpose of resolving the wage gap, as SK General Chemical employees voluntarily contribute 1% of their base salary and the company matches this to fund wage support for partner companies."
