[Asia Economy International Desk Reporter] U.S. electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla has quietly discontinued its full refund policy for new car buyers.

According to U.S. automotive media Electric on the 17th (local time), Tesla recently eliminated the policy that allowed new car buyers to request a full refund if they returned the vehicle within 7 days.

Until now, customers who purchased a new Tesla vehicle could return the car within 7 days and receive a full refund, provided the vehicle was undamaged and had less than 1,000 miles (1,600 km) of driving. Tesla promoted this as a "no questions asked refund" policy to attract customers.

However, Tesla removed the full refund policy on the 15th and also deleted related information from its website. Electric cited sources saying, "Going forward, customers dissatisfied after purchasing an electric vehicle who want to return it will be directed to Tesla's service department."

IT media The Verge also reported, "Tesla quietly ended the 7-day full refund policy," noting that Tesla did not respond to requests for official comment.
