The Small Business New Hope Fund is the second round of government disaster relief funds provided to small business owners who have experienced a decrease in sales due to COVID-19, or who have received orders for business suspension or operational restrictions.
For small business owners whose administrative information is held by the government, guidance on expedited payment of the New Hope Fund was sent via text message before Chuseok, and online applications began on September 24.
This round of applications targets small business owners who were excluded from expedited payments due to insufficient or missing information. Online applications are available from October 16, while on-site applications will be accepted starting October 26.
Online applications can be submitted at www.새희망자금.kr, and applicants must verify their identity using a mobile phone or a digital certificate.
On-site applications can be made from October 26 to November 6 at the township office or the Small Business Hope Center located in the area where the business is based. Application forms are available at the application sites.
Applicants must prepare a form of identification, a copy of their bank account, and a copy of their business registration certificate. The New Hope Fund will be paid out starting October 19 after verification by the National Tax Service and review by the Small Enterprise and Market Service. Appeals related to this process can be filed at the application site until November 30.
An official from the county stated, "Many small business owners are experiencing difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation and social distancing measures," and added, "We encourage all eligible applicants to apply online or visit the on-site application centers within the designated period to receive these benefits."
