Goheung-gun Signs Agreement to Enter Major Chinese Platform Following US Amazon Entry


[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Chunsu] Jeonnam Goheung-gun, which is promoting various policies to develop sales channels for local agricultural products, achieved the result of signing an agreement to enter a major Chinese online platform following the agreement to enter Amazon in the United States last July.


On the 16th, Goheung-gun announced that it signed a business agreement with Chinese distribution company JHE GLOBAL (CEO Lee Mungul) to enter a major Chinese online platform for small businesses such as youth and women enterprises producing products using Goheung yuzu.


With this agreement, Goheung-gun has established a foothold for entering the Chinese online market following the agreement to enter Amazon in the United States last July, in line with the expansion of the non-face-to-face online market in the post-COVID-19 era.


Going forward, Goheung-gun and JHE GLOBAL plan to start by listing four Goheung yuzu-related items such as yuzu tea and yuzu liquor on Weidian, a mobile shopping platform of WeChat, known as the KakaoTalk of China, and expand the range of listed items by discovering various new items and companies such as seafood and processed agricultural products.


In addition, they will actively cooperate over the next two years aiming for $2 million in sales of Goheung agricultural and marine specialty products through brand marketing, company consulting, and other efforts to ensure smooth sales of the listed items.


Kim Kyungwook, CEO of Nongbuniuri, said, “It was difficult to export due to COVID-19, but I am glad to enter the Chinese online market,” and added, “We will do our best to develop products so that better and more products can be listed in the future.”


Song Guigeun, the county governor, said, “The Chinese market, the largest export country for Goheung yuzu, faced difficulties due to export declines caused by the THAAD deployment issue and COVID-19,” and added, “We will focus administrative power on enhancing the competitiveness of various Goheung agricultural and marine specialty products as well as yuzu, raising the brand value of Goheung, and increasing residents’ income based on this agreement.”


Meanwhile, Goheung-gun is promoting various policies to develop sales channels for agricultural products, such as expanding domestic online promotions (11st, Post Office Shopping, etc.), entering Amazon in the United States, and supporting promotional expenses for new market buyers.
