Price Reduced from 1,342,000 KRW in Early September to 1,188,000 KRW Starting Today
Promotion Extended for Galaxy Z Fold2 and Flip 5G in Response to iPhone 12 Launch
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Samsung Electronics has further reduced the retail price of the Galaxy Z Flip LTE model.
On the 16th, Samsung Electronics and the three major mobile carriers lowered the retail price to 1,188,000 KRW. It was initially launched in February at 1.65 million KRW, then reduced to 1,342,000 KRW in early September, and has now been further reduced by 150,000 KRW. This is a total decrease of 462,000 KRW compared to the original retail price. The retail price of the Galaxy Z Flip 5G model remains unchanged.
Samsung Electronics' consecutive price cuts are a strategy to respond to the launch of the iPhone 12 while lowering the entry barrier for foldable smartphones to accelerate their popularization.
Starting from the 16th, Samsung Electronics is also running a trade-in promotion where customers who purchase the 'Galaxy Z Flip' and return their old device can receive compensation up to twice the trade-in value offered by each carrier. This applies not only to older Galaxy phones but also to iPhones.
The promotion for the Galaxy Z Fold2 and Galaxy Z Flip 5G, released in August, will also continue through this month. The gift period for Galaxy Z Fold2 buyers, including ▲Galaxy Buds Live and ▲Special Case Package (case, wireless charging trio, car mount), has been extended until the end of October. The pre-order benefit of a 'Samsung Care+ 1-year subscription' is also provided as before.
Customers who purchase the Galaxy Z Flip 5G in October will receive a Disney collaboration accessory package (wireless charger, case, custom skin) and a 99,000 KRW purchase coupon for Galaxy Buds Live as gifts.
Additionally, Samsung Electronics is running a trade-in program for customers who purchase the newly released 'Galaxy S20 FE' and 'Galaxy Note20' series until the end of this month.
