SK C&C Wins 'Sustainability Report Award' in Service Sector for 2 Consecutive Years

[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] SK Inc. C&C (hereinafter SK C&C) announced on the 16th that it received the 'Excellent Report Award in the Service Sector' at the '2020 Korea Sustainability Conference' hosted by the Korea Standards Association.

The Korea Sustainability Report Award has been evaluating and awarding outstanding sustainability management reports of domestic companies since 2009, based on the GRI guidelines, the global standard for sustainability management reports. The evaluation is conducted through independent assessments and CSR expert reviews. This year, the evaluation targeted sustainability management reports from 126 companies (organizations) published between August last year and July this year.

Among 35 companies evaluated in the service sector, four companies including SK received the Excellent Report Award. SK's sustainability management report, "Happiness with SK," was recognized for deeply reflecting the company's overall sustainability management efforts, including achievements in creating social value and innovations in DBL business models based on data and digital technologies. DBL refers to management activities that pursue both economic and social value simultaneously.

SK C&C has promoted business innovation by establishing a social value creation system based on a digital platform to support ESG (Environmental, Social Responsibility, and Corporate Governance) management environments.

Utilizing artificial intelligence (AI), cloud, and big data, SK C&C has developed digital platforms to solve social issues, including ▲ digital safety, health, and environment (SHE) services ▲ AI-based social safety net enhancement services ▲ the youth disabled ICT expert training and recruitment program "SIAT," thereby increasing social value outcomes.

Seokho Ahn, Head of the Happiness Promotion Center at SK C&C, said, "Through sustainable management activities, we have strived to address social issues important to stakeholders and resolve customers' ESG concerns. We will continue to enhance overall social happiness and social value creation outcomes based on the latest digital technologies."
