[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Former Liberty Korea Party leader Hong Joon-pyo stated on the 15th, "Four years ago, during the impeachment presidential election, I insisted that if candidate Moon Jae-in won, the Republic of Korea would be in danger," adding, "That was dismissed as a smear campaign, but is my statement really wrong now?"
On the same day, Hong said on Facebook, "Two years ago, during the local elections, when I shouted that 'the country is being completely taken over,' 'this is a disguised peace talk,' and 'President Moon Jae-in is acting like British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, who was deceived by Hitler at the Munich Agreement in September 1938,' everyone labeled me a reckless speaker," adding, "Even some senior party members prevented me from campaigning. I went through frustrating and infuriating times."
Hong criticized, "Now, seeing the mainstream media refer to President Moon as Neville Chamberlain is truly absurd," and said, "Despite numerous corruptions and misrule, why are they so shameless now? Because they faced the weakest opposition in history and believe that regime re-creation is absolutely possible."
Hong added, "For the first time since the impeachment presidential election, the party's approval rating has plummeted," and said, "The opposition party must now tighten their shoelaces. Let's make an effort."
