'2020 Dobongsan Festival' Intact Festival in Full Bloom

2020 Dobongsan Festival, Held Online Until November 15

'2020 Dobongsan Festival' Intact Festival in Full Bloom

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] The 'Dobongsan Festival' contactless event will be held online until November 15.

The 'Dobongsan Festival' is Dobong-gu's (District Mayor Dongjin Lee) representative event held every September in autumn, centered around Dobongsan Mountain, where various cultures can be enjoyed.

Due to the rapid increase in COVID-19 cases, the 'Dobongsan Festival' has been completely converted to a non-face-to-face participation program for the safety of residents. Performance events, on-site experience programs, and forest programs, which usually gather residents at the venue, will be operated as new forms of challenges and campaign programs that can be participated in online.

Additionally, through the festival, Dobong-gu, which embraces Dobongsan, plans to share an eco-friendly message with residents by reflecting the sustainable future vision of the district in the festival.

The festival will be held online until November 15. Eco-friendly challenges and SNS events will also be introduced. The campaign 'Hide and Seek Event' encourages sharing photos related to Dobongsan using hashtags on SNS platforms such as Instagram and Facebook, and the eco-friendly challenge 'Clear Dobong Life' promotes practicing ways to coexist with Dobongsan.

Through this campaign and challenge, it is expected to provide an opportunity to recognize Dobongsan, a landmark of Dobong-gu, and to contemplate various ways to coexist with Dobongsan under the themes of comfort from nature in the city, daily rest, and sustainable development.

Kim Yonghyun, Executive Director of the Dobong Cultural Foundation and Chairperson of the Dobongsan Festival Promotion Committee, stated, “Due to COVID-19, various festivals are confronting the essence of each festival.

This Dobongsan Festival aims to share the meaning of the festival through challenge-type campaign operations and create an opportunity to operate a new Intact festival that maintains physical distance but enables connection in a society forced to be untact (contactless).”
