Enhancing Geumcheon-gu's Status Through Key Achievements of the 7th Local Government Term, Including '3+1' Core Issues to Improve Residents' Quality of Life
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 14th, Yuseonghun, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, received the 'Constitutional Award' in the 'Autonomous Administration' category at the '1st Republic of Korea Constitutional Awards' ceremony held at the Kukmin Ilbo building in Yeouido.
The 'Constitutional Award' is given by the 'Republic of Korea Constitutional Association,' composed of former members of the National Assembly, to current metropolitan and provincial autonomous district heads, basic local government heads, local councils, and city/provincial superintendents of education, evaluating their contributions such as 'upholding constitutional values and promoting national welfare,' 'establishing national future strategies,' and 'nurturing national talents.'
Mayor Yuseonghun was recognized for his achievements in promoting various projects and policies to enhance resident convenience under the slogan 'Happy Neighborhood City Geumcheon' during the 7th elected term.
Mayor Yuseonghun is steadily leading the core '3+1' projects aimed at improving residents' quality of life. These include the 'Shinansan Line double-track railway,' which will provide convenience to residents through a metropolitan transportation network; the establishment of a medical safety net to secure golden time by building a large general hospital; the relocation and development project of the Air Force base, which will serve as a 4th industrial hub alongside G-Valley to lead Geumcheon; and the 'Geumcheon-gu Office Station complex station development' project, which combines commercial, business, and cultural functions. He is focusing all efforts on these projects to produce tangible results.
In addition, Geumcheon-gu is solidifying its position as a gateway city in the southwestern region by revitalizing the local economy, creating jobs in preparation for an aging society, expanding living SOC and eco-friendly green SOC, strengthening lifelong care systems, closing educational gaps, and fostering a Geumcheon-style startup ecosystem.
Mayor Yuseonghun of Geumcheon-gu stated, "Since this is a difficult and challenging time for all citizens due to COVID-19, I consider this award as a spur to work even harder for the residents," and added, "In the future, during the 7th elected term, Geumcheon-gu will continue to implement projects and policies closer to the residents and tailored to their perspectives."
