[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] The Korea Tourism Organization announced on the 13th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the global independent travel platform KLOOK to develop data-driven, customer-tailored tourism products.

The Tourism Organization and KLOOK agreed to pursue strategic cooperation in five areas: joint efforts to overcome the tourism industry crisis, joint marketing to attract visitors to Korea, revitalization of domestic tourism, support for tourism ventures and job creation, and sustainable tourism through digital innovation.

Hwang Seung-hyun, Director of International Tourism at the Tourism Organization, stated, "Through the MOU with KLOOK, we plan to develop customer-tailored tourism products based on data and improve tourism infrastructure such as transportation and guidance to establish a tourism ecosystem centered on individual travelers."

Meanwhile, KLOOK, established in 2014, is a travel activity service reservation platform currently offering over 100,000 activities in more than 400 cities worldwide.
