[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Yeosu City (Mayor Kwon Oh-bong) is recruiting 80 participants for the local job project to overcome the COVID-19 crisis.
The project period is from the 22nd of this month to December 21, focusing on life quarantine support projects such as environmental cleanup projects, with working hours set at 25 hours per week and an hourly wage of 8,590 KRW.
Applicants must be under 65 years old with work ability, belonging to vulnerable employment groups, those on leave due to COVID-19, unpaid leave workers, special types of workers (특고) and freelancers who need livelihood support due to the local economic downturn. Those currently participating in other financially supported job projects as of the application date cannot participate simultaneously.
Those wishing to participate should visit the resident center of their jurisdictional eup, myeon, or dong with their ID card to apply between the 12th and 15th. Those who have experienced job loss or business closure due to COVID-19, special types of workers, and freelancers must submit documents proving these facts.
The city will select participants based on criteria such as property status, household income, and the number of times participating in public job projects. The selection results will be individually notified and announced on the city’s website on the 21st.
For more details, refer to the Yeosu City Hall website or contact the Yeosu City Population and Job Division or the eup, myeon, or dong resident centers.
A city official said, “To revitalize the economy stagnated due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, we are expanding public jobs,” and added, “We hope many citizens will show interest and participate in this job project.”
