[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] A woman in her 20s, identified as A, was arrested by the police for causing a disturbance while naked on the platform of Hapjeong Station on Seoul Subway Line 2.
According to the police on the 13th, A reportedly caused a commotion for about 10 minutes on the afternoon of the 10th at Hapjeong Station platform, shouting "Guarantee the freedom of Corporal Byeon Hee-soo" while naked. When station staff tried to restrain her following a citizen's report, they failed, and the police eventually arrived and arrested A on the spot.
Former Corporal Byeon is a figure who underwent gender reassignment surgery (sex reassignment surgery) from male to female and was forcibly discharged from the army.
The police investigated A on charges of public obscenity and, finding no further criminal activity, released her the same day.
