Luxury Townhouse for Only 1%, 'Foret de Yongin'

The year 2020, which began alongside the COVID-19 virus, has now entered its fourth quarter. As social norms shifted to 'contactless' due to concerns about droplet transmission and infection, many changes occurred in our daily lives. Students attended remote classes, office workers worked from home, spending significantly more time staring at computer monitors, and even weekends were devoted to 'staying home' in accordance with government social distancing guidelines. As a result, many people complained of 'Corona Blue,' where frustration turned into depression.

This lifestyle also greatly changed perceptions about homes. First, there was a significant increase in preference for country houses where one can freely blend with nature. In urban areas, apartments located near forests, parks, or at least with open views began to increase in value. The trend of reconfiguring homes not just as simple living spaces but as workplaces, shelters, and leisure spaces?a 'lifestyle platform'?is also spreading. Real estate experts say, “In the current 'With Corona' era as well as the 'Post Corona' era, demand from consumers and builders for eco-friendly locations and designs will continue to be high,” adding, “Attention should be paid to residential products featuring open terraces or balconies, or alpha spaces where various hobbies can be enjoyed indoors. As time spent at home increases, enhancing security and privacy is also an important factor.”

The optimal residential form that combines all these elements at once is the so-called 'private townhouse,' traditionally perceived as the exclusive domain of the top 1% elite. This is thanks to the combination of a pleasant and quiet living environment, the freedom of living in a detached house on a spacious private lot, and the ability to perfectly protect individual family privacy while harmoniously coexisting with neighbors in a housing complex.

‘Foret de Yongin,’ recently appearing in the sales market and attracting attention, also exemplifies a luxury mood private townhouse.

Located in the Samga-dong area of Cheoin-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, ‘Foret de Yongin’ enjoys the benefits of the Yeoksam District urban development project and the convenience of being in the immediate vicinity of Samga Station, while also offering the refreshing environment of Seokseongsan Mountain and Geumhakcheon Stream. It is being developed as a mid-to-large scale complex with 17 detached houses and 36 terraced houses.

A sales representative said, “While typical luxury townhouses are located on the outskirts of the city, limiting security, shopping, and cultural life, ‘Foret de Yongin’ offers the charm of ‘urban-style country living’ by combining the relaxed and clean eco-friendly location unique to townhouses with the convenience of being just a 5-minute walk from Exit 1 of Samga Station. Unlike general townhouses supplied as land share types, this project offers a practical supply form where land and buildings can be purchased and owned together, which is worth noting.”

The complex is located a 5-minute walk from Samga Station on the Yongin Light Rail (Everline), allowing travel within 40 to 50 minutes to major areas on the Bundang Line accessible via transfers at Giheung Station, including Suwon, Jeongja, and Suseo. When the extension line to Gwanggyo Jungang Station is connected, access to Pangyo, Bundang, and Gwanggyo, as well as use of the Shinbundang Line, will become easier. The opening of the GTX-A Line Yongin Station (planned) is also expected to improve accessibility to Seoul. Additionally, the nearby opening of the Seo Yongin JC entrance to the Second Outer Ring Road is expected to improve vehicle access to and from the city and increase regional value.

In terms of education, notable facilities that foster a study-friendly atmosphere include Trinity English International School, located just a 1-minute walk away, as well as the Central Library and Digital Library. Prestigious school districts and universities such as Eunice International School, Samga Elementary, Hambak Elementary, Yongsan Middle, Yongin Middle, Yongin High, Chodang High, Yongin University, Gangnam University, Myongji University, and Songdam University are also nearby.

Additionally, lifestyle conveniences are excellent with E-Mart Yongin Branch just a 5-minute drive, Rodeo Shopping Complex a 5-minute walk, Hanaro Mart, CGV, Lotte Cinema, and Yongin City Hall all within a 10-minute walk. Yongin Severance Hospital, Davos Hospital, the Cultural Arts Center, Suwon District Court, and Yongin City Court are also close by. A sales representative for ‘Foret de Yongin’ predicted, “The location benefits from high-quality medical services at Yongin Severance Hospital, as well as direct advantages from large-scale development projects in Yongin such as Yongin Techno Valley, SK Hynix Semiconductor Cluster, and Yongin Platform City, which will activate the local economy, create jobs, and expand the demand base, ensuring steady rental demand.”

The eco-friendly location embracing hiking trails of Seokseongsan Mountain and the waterside park of Geumhakcheon Stream is also eye-catching. Large parks such as Yongin Citizen Sports Park and Yongin Central Park are nearby, offering excellent residential comfort and leisure usability, and sports/leisure facilities within the Yongin Cultural Welfare Administrative Town can be freely used.

The complex and house interiors are also designed to be comfortable. ‘Foret de Yongin’ plans to showcase an ‘eco design’ that brings nature into the complex, with an exterior design reminiscent of the Mediterranean island of Santorini. Utilizing the sloped terrain for a stepped design secures natural views, while all units are arranged mainly facing south to maximize sunlight and daylight. Spacious ‘healing’ spaces such as private gardens, decks, balconies, and rooftop gardens (terraces) are also provided.

The 17 detached houses, supplied in three types, consist of a basement floor, two above-ground floors, and a rooftop. The basement includes a personal parking bunker (with automatic door) accommodating two vehicles and a multipurpose multi-room. The first and second floors house the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, and dressing rooms. The houses adopt city gas heating favorable for reducing maintenance costs, a septic tank separate structure, wide system windows that enhance openness, and designed eaves to block indoor sunlight, all providing the highest residential satisfaction. Especially in the kitchen, high-end basic options considering convenience and hygiene are included, such as a 3-burner induction cooktop, smart oven, built-in hood, sterilizer for dishcloths/cutting boards, and food waste disposer. Additionally, eco-friendly built-in kitchen furniture made by the 54-year-old Italian company ‘Veneta Cucine,’ famous for timeless design and innovative functionality, will be applied, promising a unique sense of pride.

The ‘Foret de Yongin’ housing exhibition center is located near Samga Station at 195-1, Samga-dong, Cheoin-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do, and sales are conducted on a first-come, first-served basis at the exhibition site.
