Jang Je-won: "Approval Rating at Kim Jong-in's Inauguration Level... Change the Party's Operation Method"

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Jang Je-won, a member of the People Power Party, criticized Kim Jong-in, the Emergency Response Committee Chairman, for his autocratic management style and advised him to "change the party's management method."

On the 13th, Jang said on Facebook, "The party's approval rating is in a downward trend, approaching the 27.5% it had when Chairman Kim took office."

He pointed out, "Regarding the three economic bills, instead of opening a forum for public discussion, he tries to teach those who oppose by saying, 'I don't know if you really understand what you're saying.' I don't know if this is education or politics," adding, "From the party name to the party color, it's all 'follow me.' He is the owner, but has become a guest."

Jang criticized, "The 'issue preemption events' that were noisy without alternatives are losing their effectiveness," and asked, "Has the party ever proposed a party bill on basic income or all-day childcare, which were placed at the forefront of the party platform and policies while shouting for centrism and expansion of the party's base?"

He also pointed out conflicts during the formation of the by-election preparation committee the day before, saying, "The problem of the Emergency Response Committee deciding all political schedules and personnel unilaterally has once again been exposed externally," and added, "Chairman Kim, who should feel responsible, reportedly suddenly said, 'I cannot serve as the Emergency Response Committee Chairman if this continues.'"

He criticized, "The by-election is like a ray of light given to us," and said, "I don't know what Chairman Kim's intention is, but he is still wielding his characteristic 'minus hand,' saying this person is no good for this reason, and that person is no good for that reason." This appears to be a shot at Chairman Kim's opposition to the merger with the People Party.

Jang said, "The excessively autocratic party management is driving away the hearts of members both inside and outside the National Assembly," and criticized, "Chairman Kim must drastically change the party management method. The stagnant approval ratings, the weak opposition party that cannot fight, the Emergency Response Committee that only causes frustration ? many party members are expressing their frustration and turning away."
