'Convenience Store Self-Activation' KT USIM Cards Available at GS25

[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] KT has started selling KT SIM cards at GS25 convenience stores for customers who want convenient SIM card purchases and quick activation, and the self-activation service will also begin on the 13th.

KT self-activation SIM cards were previously available for purchase on the official online mall KT Shop, but now they can be easily and quickly purchased at nearby GS25 convenience stores, saving the time required for SIM card delivery. Accordingly, the convenience for customers purchasing unlocked phones and those using already owned devices such as second-hand phones has greatly improved. Convenience stores operating 24 hours a day provide telecommunication services without time restrictions.

Purchased SIM cards can be activated immediately through the self-activation service. After identity verification on the KT Shop activation page, customers select a plan and enter only the minimum required information. The activation page can also be easily accessed via the QR code printed on the purchased SIM card package. The SIM card price is 7,700 KRW.

Customers can freely choose their desired plan, including KT’s online-only no-contract plan ‘5G/LTE Direct Shinhan SOL.’ If subscribing to a contract plan, they can also receive a 25% discount on the selected contract. All customers who purchase and activate SIM cards at GS25 will receive a USB hub and an Emart gift certificate.
