[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] LG Uplus announced on the 13th that it will conduct a campaign to encourage 'pre-registration of fingerprints and other data' that can help quickly find missing children in cooperation with the National Police Agency.

Pre-registration of fingerprints and other data involves registering a child's fingerprints, face, photo, and guardian contact information in the police system in advance. This can be done by visiting a police station or by installing the National Police Agency's 'Safe Dream' application and registering directly.

Registration can also be done at a nearby LG Uplus store by following the staff's guidance and printed materials provided. Customers can visit any of the 142 LG Uplus directly operated stores nationwide regardless of their current telecommunications provider.

According to the National Police Agency, about 20,000 missing child reports are filed annually in South Korea. The average time taken to find a missing child is 3,360 minutes (56 hours). Studies show that pre-registration of fingerprints and other data can reduce this time to an average of 52 minutes.

Kim Hee-jin, head of LG Uplus Brand Communication Team, said, "We hope that this pre-registration campaign conducted with the National Police Agency will help ensure the safety of our precious children," and added, "We will continue to plan additional campaigns to become a company that sincerely cares for children."

LG Uplus plans to soon release a promotional video for the pre-registration campaign titled "Mom, how did you find me?" on its official YouTube channel.
