[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) will hold the Gangdong Innovation Education Online Expo under the theme "Gangdong is ON, the Village is the School" from the 12th to the 18th.
This expo is an opportunity to share the values and direction of the Gangdong Innovation Education District project, which has been promoted since 2015 to create a future education where everyone is happy.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, the event will be held online from the 12th to the 18th, and any resident can participate by accessing the Gangdong Innovation Education Online Expo website.
The online expo is organized into five zones: ▲Village Teacher Learning Kits ▲Meeting with Authors ▲Youth Culture and Arts ▲Empathy Talk ▲Our Village Travel.
In the Village Teacher Learning Kits zone, 26 experiential programs including crafts, play, and reading created by Gangdong village teachers will be conducted for about 1,400 students from 21 schools.
Additionally, an ‘OX Quiz Event’ related to Gangdong Innovation Education will be held, where participants who answer the quiz correctly will be entered into a draw to receive a rainbow whipped cream making learning kit.
In the Meeting with Authors zone, online special lectures by authors popular among students will be held. During the expo period, you can meet online the authors Ko Jeong-wook of the "The Moody Jaeseok Series," Jo Mi-hye of "Why Don’t I Understand My Own Heart," and Ham Young-yeon of "The Beautiful Promise of Kaesong Industrial Complex."
In the Youth Culture and Arts zone, planned and produced directly by the Gangdong Innovation Education youth culture and arts club, you can see students’ talents and skills through art exhibitions, the "Bang-guseok Sweet Concert," the short film "Friend" by Sangil Girls' High School’s "Prologue" club, and ecological environment UCC screenings.
In the Empathy Talk zone, empathy talks between parents and teachers about the changed educational environment after COVID-19 and a home life talk show by the middle school student council "Areumdri" will be held.
In the Our Village Travel zone, you can experience a vivid online tour as if visiting famous spots in Gangdong-gu from home, and also meet the Gangdong cultural landmark app "Gangmunso," produced by Sangil Media High School’s "Yeoulcom" club.
Lee Jeong-hoon, Mayor of Gangdong-gu, said, “I hope this Gangdong Innovation Education Online Expo will be an enjoyable and meaningful time for all participants,” and added, “We will continue to actively respond to the rapidly changing educational environment due to COVID-19 and support schools and villages so that children and youth can grow as the main agents of their lives.”
