Recruitment of Tenants for Public Rental Housing Built under Seoul-Type Autonomous Housing Maintenance Project No. 1... Applications Open from the 19th for 10 Units for Newlyweds... 21 Units for Youth Scheduled for Recruitment at the End of This Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Lee Chang-woo) is recruiting tenants for the 'Sangdo 4-dong Newlywed and Youth Customized Public Rental Housing,' which was completed through the Seoul-type Autonomous Housing Maintenance Project development last June.
The Seoul-type Autonomous Housing Maintenance Project is a method where residents of aging low-rise residential areas voluntarily form a council to provide land, and SH Corporation develops it into multi-family housing. The first project was built at Sangdo 4-dong 244-267.
The construction scale consists of 3 buildings with 42 units. SH Corporation purchased 31 units to supply as public rental housing, and Dongjak-gu is responsible for proposing housing types and selecting tenants.
First, the district is recruiting 10 units of customized public rental housing for newlyweds.
The application period is from October 19 to 29, and after screening, the successful tenants will be announced at the end of December.
Eligibility requires applicants to be members of a household without a home, residing in Seoul, with an average monthly income of 70% or less of the urban worker standard, newlyweds within 7 years of marriage (including prospective newlyweds), or single-parent families with children under 6 years old. Final tenants will be selected through document screening, self-introduction, and income and asset evaluation.
Additionally, 21 units will be supplied to the youth, with recruitment planned for the end of October.
The recruitment announcement can be found on the Dongjak-gu Office and SH Corporation websites.
For more details, inquiries can be made to the Dongjak-gu Housing Division.
Since the 6th local government term, Dongjak-gu has been attempting housing supply at the autonomous district level to realize universal housing welfare, promoting the 'Dongjak-gu Type Public Rental Housing Supply' as a key project.
So far, 250 customized rental housing units have been supplied targeting single mothers, elderly living alone, youth, and newlyweds, and an additional 373 units are secured for supply by 2022.
In particular, the district is striving not only to supply housing but also to guarantee practical living space by securing exclusive areas of 20㎡ or more, which is wider than the national minimum standard of 14㎡.
Lee Chang-woo, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, said, “We will continue to discover new public rental housing models such as public facility complex projects and do our best to supply customized rental housing centered on demand.”
