[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) will hold a non-face-to-face parent education program called ‘Al.Sseul.Yeo.Jeong’ for local residents in commemoration of Mental Health Day (October 10).

‘Al.Sseul.Yeo.Jeong’ is an abbreviation of ‘Useful knowledge about various mental health issues of children,’ designed to help parents understand the stress children have experienced due to COVID-19 and to stabilize their anxious emotions.

The education will be conducted twice through a video conferencing program.

On the 13th, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, Dr. Kim Jin from Pureun Whale Psychiatry will give a lecture on ‘Understanding ADHD and Parenting Methods,’ and on the 15th, from 3:00 PM to 4:10 PM, Dr. Cha Ji-min from Nexsu Children’s Rehabilitation Hospital will lecture on ‘Managing Anxiety and Emotions of Children in the COVID-19 Era.’

This education is open to all Geumcheon-gu residents. Each session will accept up to 100 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents who wish to participate can apply through the Geumcheon-gu Mental Health Welfare Center.

Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “We expect this education to provide an opportunity for parents and children, who are confused due to COVID-19, to learn how to wisely manage stress.”
