[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Eun-young] The perpetrator of an unsolved murder case that occurred 39 years ago in Georgia, USA, has been identified as serial killer Samuel Little. Little is already serving a life sentence in Lancaster Prison, California, for murder.

According to foreign media on the 10th, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) announced that Patricia Parker, a woman found dead in Georgia 39 years ago, has been confirmed as a victim of serial killer Samuel Little (80).

Samuel Little, considered one of the worst serial killers in American criminal history, confessed to the police in 2018 that he had kidnapped and murdered a young Black woman in Tennessee in the early 1980s. The police then presumed that Little had kidnapped the woman in Tennessee and murdered her in Dade County, Georgia, and began collecting evidence.

During the investigation, the GBI forensically reconstructed the skull of the corpse and began publicly soliciting tips. In this process, they obtained DNA samples from Parker’s family and compared them with the corpse found 39 years ago, confirming that the deceased woman was Patricia Parker. She was 30 years old at the time.

The GBI stated, "Investigative authorities in Georgia and Tennessee interviewed Little and secured specific circumstances proving that he was the murderer of the victim."

Meanwhile, Little was found guilty of murdering three women in Los Angeles between 1987 and 1989 and was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2014. He had been in and out of prison on charges including burglary, kidnapping, and murder, and was caught by police in 2012 on drug possession charges, after which DNA testing revealed his involvement in murders, leading to his incarceration.

However, after incarceration, Little confessed that he strangled a total of 93 people from 1970 to 2005. It was revealed that he made this confession while being investigated last year under the FBI’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Program (ViCAP).

Accordingly, the FBI confirmed at least 50 cases of crimes by last year. It was revealed that he mainly targeted women involved in prostitution or drugs.

Meanwhile, as hidden victims are being revealed through Little’s statements, attention is focused on whether clues to still unsolved cases can be obtained.

Last year, the FBI released portraits drawn by Little himself of the women he claimed to have murdered, urging, "We hope that families, friends, and neighbors of the victims will see these pictures and provide clues to identify additional crimes."
