On the 9th, the owner of THE Sinchon's Deopjuk posted a clip from his appearance on 'Baek Jong-won's Alley Restaurant' on his Instagram, appealing, "I have not opened a Deopjuk restaurant in any other region. Please don't steal it, I beg you..." He added, "My months of worries, months of efforts, and Mr. Baek Jong-won's praise... I hope it does not bring shame to Alley Restaurant during these three months I have spent..."
He further stated, "The Deopjuk restaurant that appeared on Pohang Alley Restaurant has no relation whatsoever with companies in Gangnam, Seoul, or other regions."
The day before, he also posted a photo with Baek Jong-won, Kim Sung-joo, and Jung In-sun, saying, "I really worked hard for three months. I tried to maintain the Deopjuk taste that was called a big hit," leaving the hashtag, "Please don't steal Deopjuk."
Meanwhile, the franchise selling a menu similar to Deopjuk announced at its opening, "With the opening of the country's first Deopjuk franchise 'Deopjuk Deopjuk,' we simultaneously signed franchise contracts with five branches," and stated, "We developed the menu independently through months of research."
In response, netizens have flooded with critical comments such as "Where is your conscience?", "Robbers," and "Is the Deopjuk owner’s own research just taken away completely?"
