'Youth Life Records' for Out-of-School Youth College Admission Selected as an Excellent Policy by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family

'Youth Life Records' for Out-of-School Youth College Admission Selected as an Excellent Policy by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The policy to introduce a 'Youth Life Record' that allows out-of-school youth to utilize it for college admissions has been selected as an excellent policy case by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family this year.

The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family announced on the 6th that it held a government innovation best practice competition together with its affiliated public institutions to introduce and share innovative policies.

Five excellent cases were selected through expert evaluation and online public voting based on ▲innovation ▲degree of communication with the public ▲impact on citizens' lives.

The grand prize was awarded to the Youth Life Record promoted by the Korea Youth Counseling & Welfare Institute. The Youth Life Record can be provided to universities as a substitute for the school life record so that out-of-school youth are not discriminated against when applying through the student comprehensive screening (early admission).

The gold prize went to the mobile notification of sex offender personal information promoted by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family. Instead of mail, personal information of sex offenders will be notified via mobile to the heads of households protecting children and youth under 19 years old, and this will be implemented in November. The silver prize was awarded to the Korea Youth Activity Promotion Agency's 'Peer Youth Non-face-to-face Volunteer Program Operation.' The bronze prizes were given to the cases of 'Strengthening Customized Services for At-risk Youth' and 'Production and Distribution of Digital-based Gender Equality Education Content Booklets Suitable for the Non-face-to-face Era,' respectively.
