[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Samyook University announced on the 6th that it held a worship service commemorating its 114th anniversary on the morning of the 5th at Jang Geun-cheong Hall in the Centennial Memorial Hall.
The event was attended by a minimal number of people, including President Kim Il-mok and heads of each department, to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), and was broadcast live online.
The program proceeded in the order of a prayer by Graduate School Dean Kim Hyun-hee, a commemorative sermon by Chaplain Kim Won-gon, and a commemorative address by President Kim Il-mok. Along with external commendation awards, long-term service plaques were also presented to employees who have dedicated many years to the development of the university.
General Affairs and Human Resources Team Leader Lee Joon-tae received the Presidential Commendation, Professor Kim Il-ok of the Department of Nursing received the Prime Minister's Commendation, and Professors Lee Byung-hee of Physical Therapy and Jung Jong-hwa of Social Welfare each received the Minister of Health and Welfare Commendation and a Merit Award, respectively. Twenty-two people, including Manager Kim Kwang-chul of the Faculty Support Team, received 20-year service plaques, and five people, including Professor Shin Ji-yeon of Early Childhood Education, received 10-year service plaques.
