[Asia Economy Reporter Nahana] Former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon sarcastically responded to Yoo Si-min, director of the People’s Livelihood Foundation and the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation, who said "Enlightened monarch, did I say it elegantly?" by saying, "Can an elegant metaphor come from cheap lips?"
In a post on his Facebook on the 1st, former professor Jin said to director Yoo, "With the comedic sense that called evidence destruction 'evidence preservation,' it seems you are now challenging black humor."
He referred to the case of the government official killed by North Korean soldiers, pointing out, "Which country's enlightened monarch executes his uncle, assassinates his half-brother, and uses rifles for COVID-19 quarantine?"
He continued, "It is like calling the culprit at the funeral of the murdered person an 'enlightened culprit,'" fiercely criticizing director Yoo’s 'enlightened monarch' remark.
Meanwhile, director Yoo sparked controversy when he said, during the '10.4 Inter-Korean Joint Declaration 13th Anniversary Commemorative Event Discussion' broadcast on the Roh Moo-hyun Foundation’s YouTube channel on the 25th of last month, "Chairman Kim’s leadership style is different from before," and added, "He seems like an enlightened monarch."
After the controversy, director Yoo appeared on the YouTube show ‘Kim Eo-jun’s Das Bweida’ on the 30th of last month and consistently defended the 'enlightened monarch' expression, saying, "Maybe I used too elegant a metaphor. All my education is a sin."
