[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] On the second day of the Chuseok holiday, on the 1st, a passenger car carrying a family overturned in Jeju, resulting in one death.
The Jeju West Fire Department announced that at around 2:11 PM on the 1st, a passenger car driven by A (47-year-old male) collided with a road curb and overturned at the Sogil Intersection in Aewol-eup, Jeju City.
The car was carrying five family members including the driver A, and as a result of the accident, a 4-month-old infant died and four others were injured.
All of them are residents of Jeju Island, and except for the deceased infant, they are reported to have escaped the vehicle on their own.
The police are investigating the exact cause, believing the accident occurred due to A's negligence.
