[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Baek Jong-min] Following a heated exchange of harsh words in the first US presidential debate held the day before, Democratic candidate Joe Biden is being evaluated as having performed well, and a large amount of donations has poured into the Biden campaign. Bookmakers who have been predicting the election outcome have significantly raised Biden's chances of winning.

According to US media on the 30th (local time), the Biden presidential campaign announced that between 10 PM and 11 PM, near the end of the debate, $3.8 million in donations were received, setting a one-hour record on the online fundraising platform 'ActBlue.'

The total amount raised during the two hours from 9 PM to 11 PM, when the debate started, reached $8 million.

Rufus Gifford, deputy manager of the Biden campaign, stated on Twitter that "In the past 12 hours, we have never received so many donation calls, text messages, and emails."

The betting site EsMarkets evaluated Biden's chances of winning the presidential election at 63.29%, which is 5 percentage points higher than the day before. President Trump's chances dropped from the low 41% range the day before to 36%.

According to a CNN poll, 60% of respondents said Biden performed well in the debate after it ended. President Trump received only 28%.
