Seoul Reports 51 New Cases and 2 Deaths... Dobong-gu 'Dana Hospital' Under Cohort Isolation (Comprehensive) On the morning of the 29th, two hospitalized patients were confirmed positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) at Dana Hospital in Dobong-gu, Seoul, where a temporary closure order from Dobong-gu is posted.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-joo] Twenty-eight inpatients at 'Dana Hospital,' a psychiatric specialty hospital located in Dobong-gu, Seoul, were additionally confirmed positive for COVID-19 on the 30th, leading to a cohort isolation measure for the entire hospital.


According to health authorities, two inpatients tested positive on the 28th, and after conducting comprehensive testing on a total of 210 people?including 166 other inpatients and 44 medical staff and employees?28 tested positive. As a result, the total number of confirmed cases related to this hospital has increased to 30.


The remaining 127 tested negative, and 11 are subject to retesting. Dobong-gu is monitoring the condition of the 11 individuals classified for retesting and plans to conduct follow-up tests later.


The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters decided to conduct comprehensive testing of the hospital’s previous discharged patients, outpatients, and visitors. From September 15 to 29, anyone who visited Dana Hospital, regardless of symptoms, is urged to contact the nearest public health center and undergo COVID-19 testing. Emergency disaster messages were sent to the Seoul metropolitan area, including Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon.


Meanwhile, the number of confirmed cases in Seoul rose sharply to 51, compared to 11 the previous day. This is the first time in five days that daily new confirmed cases in Seoul have exceeded 50, following 57 cases on the 24th. Additionally, two patients who contracted the virus in Seoul died on the 29th, bringing the cumulative COVID-19 death toll in Seoul to 56 as of midnight on the 30th.
