Hail Falls in Eastern Gyeonggi and Western Gangwon, Caution Advised
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] On the first day of the Chuseok holiday, the 30th, rain accompanied by gusts of wind, thunder, and lightning is expected to fall in the central region starting from noon.
The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted that rain will begin around noon and will stop around 6 p.m. in Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, and northern Chungcheongbuk-do, while in some parts of southwestern Gangwon Yeongseo, it will continue until 9 p.m.
In eastern Gyeonggi and Gangwon Yeongseo, hail may fall during the afternoon, so caution is needed. Rain will also fall briefly in the afternoon along the western coasts of Chungnam and Jeolla.
Expected precipitation amounts are 5 to 40 mm in northern and central Gangwon Yeongdong, and 5 to 20 mm in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Gangwon Yeongseo, Chungnam, northern Chungbuk, and the western coast of Jeolla.
The highest daytime temperatures are expected to range from 20 to 27 degrees Celsius.
