Among Seoul's 25 districts, ranked within the top 8 to receive an 'S Grade'... Recognized for administrative capability by achieving livelihood administration indicators closely related to residents' lives
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) received the highest grade, 'S' grade, in the Seoul City evaluation of the '2020 Local Government Joint Evaluation.'
The 'Local Government Joint Evaluation' is a system conducted annually by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety to assess the performance of national delegated tasks, national subsidy projects, and major national policies carried out by local governments in 17 cities and provinces nationwide.
The S grade obtained by the district is the highest grade awarded to districts ranked within the top 8 among the 25 autonomous districts of Seoul.
In this evaluation, the district demonstrated outstanding performance exceeding the average of other districts in both 'achievement of indicator targets' and 'efforts of the autonomous district,' objectively recognizing the district's administrative capabilities, and earned a financial incentive of 40 million won.
In particular, the district achieved indicators closely related to residents' lives, such as the 'establishment rate of mutual cooperation networks between public libraries and small libraries' and the 'community dementia management rate,' acknowledging efforts in livelihood administration that residents can feel.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, "I am pleased to deliver good news to residents during these difficult times due to COVID-19," and added, "We will prepare improvement plans for indicators that were somewhat disappointing in this evaluation and do our best to achieve them next year without fail."
