Operating 'Online Civil Complaint Consultation Room' via Video Conference System from October 19... Security Proven by International Standard Certification
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) will open the era of the "Online District Office" starting October 19, becoming the first in the nation to conduct civil complaint consultations through a video conferencing system as an "Ontact Leader."
The district has established a video conferencing system using the platform "Lifesize," enabling consultations between residents and staff at the district office and 22 community service centers.
Additionally, to ensure residents can use the service with confidence, Gangnam-gu obtained ISO27001 certification, the international standard for information security management systems, to systematically and securely manage personal information.
The "Online District Office" system allows residents to apply in advance via the Gangnam-gu district office website or the respective community service center websites. Then, the responsible staff member creates a video conference room called the "Online Civil Complaint Consultation Room" on Lifesize and invites the resident.
Each conference room can accommodate up to 300 participants simultaneously, and consultations can be received on desired matters regardless of location via PC or smartphone.
Jung Chan-sik, Director of the Computer Information Division, stated, "'Online District Office' will become a new communication channel between Gangnam-gu residents and public institution officials," adding, "We will establish 'Ontact Administration' in all future operations and strive to bridge the digital divide to ensure no information-vulnerable groups are left behind."
