On the 29th, the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) stated in an explanatory document regarding the temporary suspension of the national flu vaccination program, "As of yesterday (the 28th), a total of 873 cases have been reported across 14 regions for government-procured vaccine doses."
By region, Jeonbuk reported the highest number with 279 cases, followed by Gyeongbuk with 126, Incheon 86, Busan 83, Chungnam 74, Seoul 70, Sejong 51, Gyeonggi 49, Jeonnam 31, Gyeongnam 10, Jeju 8, Daejeon 3, Daegu 2, and Chungbuk 1.
Earlier, the KDCA confirmed that Shinsung Pharmaceutical, the supplier of the government-procured vaccines, failed to adhere to the 'cold chain' principle during vaccine delivery, and consequently suspended the national vaccination program temporarily on the 21st.
