Gogchang County Governor Ugisang Shops at Traditional Market and Visits Market Merchants Before Chuseok Holiday

Gogchang County Governor Ugisang Shops at Traditional Market and Visits Market Merchants Before Chuseok Holiday

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] On the 28th, Yu Gi-sang, the mayor of Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk, visited Gochang Traditional Market, which has been struggling due to COVID-19 and other difficulties ahead of Chuseok, to shop and console the merchants, the county announced on the 29th.

The shopping on that day was carried out in strict compliance with social distancing guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the local community.

Previously, Gochang-gun designated traditional markets and surrounding restaurants for each department to use, and individual quarantine rules are being followed before the Chuseok holiday to conduct shopping at traditional markets.

In addition, efforts are being made to support local small business owners facing the COVID-19 crisis by providing farmers' allowances before Chuseok, supporting operating funds for small business owners, subsidizing delivery app usage fees, and supporting small business owners' card fees.

Yu Gi-sang, mayor of Gochang-gun, said, “In these difficult times, I ask everyone to buy Gochang products first and use Gochang’s traditional markets, stores, and businesses first to work together to create a ‘co-prosperity economy that saves and prospers together.’”
