According to Wando-gun on the 29th, a wedding ceremony on a ship will be held around Wando Port on Friday, the 24th of next month, during the upcoming ‘2020 Clean Wando Autumn Island Travel’ period.
The biggest attraction of the wedding ceremony on a ship is the exotic atmosphere of holding the ceremony while looking at the night view of Wando from the sea, free venue rental, and the ability to conduct the ceremony without being rushed by time.
Eligibility for support includes those whose weddings were canceled or postponed due to COVID-19, those dreaming of a unique wedding, those who could not hold a ceremony due to personal reasons, and those who want a reminder wedding. Any story can apply. However, only those who can get married on the 24th of next month can apply.
The application period is from the 29th to the 13th of next month, and applications can be made through a phone interview with the Wando-gun office staff.
The selected couples will be provided with a wedding space, ceremony conducted including an emcee, congratulatory performances, wedding car service, and a 1-night 2-day accommodation voucher at a luxury resort in the area. However, formal wear, hair and makeup, invitations, photos, and food must be prepared by the parties themselves.
Also, considering the COVID-19 situation, only a minimum of family, relatives, and acquaintances under 100 people will attend, and the event will be live-streamed on YouTube for guests who cannot attend.
Lee Song-hyun, Director of Tourism, said, “The wedding ceremony on a ship, which is being attempted for the first time during the 2020 Clean Wando Autumn Island Travel period, was prepared to present a new wedding culture by adding the characteristics of our region surrounded by islands and the sea in an era coexisting with COVID-19.” He added, “Instead of a flashy wedding culture rushed by time, we want to create a new wedding culture that is simple, unique, and considers safety in the COVID-19 era.”
Meanwhile, the ‘2020 Clean Wando Autumn Island Travel,’ being attempted for the first time this year, was prepared with the concept of traveling major attractions themed around islands, which are Wando’s comparative advantage resources, from October 23 to November 1. However, considering the COVID-19 situation, YouTubers will be invited, and it can be experienced online through Ontact LIVE.
In particular, for local residents, a chrysanthemum exhibition at the Seaweed Center, night stroll programs on Bogildo and Cheongsando Islands, and photo shoots are being prepared.
