LG Uplus Operates AR·VR Experience Zone at Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel

Available for Guests and Visitors from the 30th to the 11th of Next Month

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] LG Uplus announced on the 29th that it will operate an augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) experience zone for hotel guests and visitors in partnership with the Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel from the 30th until October 11.

The experience zone will be set up at a pop-up store next to the lobby on the first floor of the Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel in Namsan, Seoul. Visitors can first enjoy VR content that vividly showcases various travel destinations and tourist attractions. The cloud VR game service, which families can enjoy together, is also noteworthy. With a single all-in-one wireless headset (HMD) device, users can freely access 15 high-spec 6DoF cloud VR games such as Dancing Arrow, My Little Chef Universe, and Riches Plank. Additionally, there will be around 1,300 diverse VR attractions including idol content, 3D movies, and performances.

At the pop-up store, visitors can also experience the 'U+ Real Glass,' a 5G AR glass device that LG Uplus launched last month as the world's first. The U+ Real Glass is a wearable device that displays desired content through its lenses.

During the operation period of the experience zone, an 'AR Quest' event will be held for all hotel guests. Customers can take a walk in Namsan Park connected to the hotel and solve quizzes at specific locations to receive small prizes from the hotel.

Choi Yoon-ho, Executive Director in charge of AR·VR services at LG Uplus, said, "We are exploring various ways to expand service accessibility so that customers can naturally feel and enjoy AR and VR," adding, "We plan to provide more customers with opportunities to experience services to promote the spread of extended reality (XR) technologies, including AR and VR."
