Gyeonggi Tourism Organization Receives 'Excellent Grade' in Ministry of the Interior and Safety Evaluation for the First Time in 15 Years

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization received an 'Excellent' rating in the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's management evaluation for the first time in 15 years.

On the 29th, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization announced that it received the 'Na' grade, corresponding to 'Excellent,' among the seven organizations in the tourism corporation group in the 2020 Ministry of the Interior and Safety local public enterprise management evaluation (2019 performance results).

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety previously evaluated the management performance of 249 local public enterprises nationwide last year, and after deliberation by the Local Public Enterprise Policy Committee, the results were finalized and announced on the 28th.

In this evaluation, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization received the 'Na' grade, moving up one level from the 'Da' grade it had held for 14 consecutive years until last year, following the 'Ga' grade it received in 2005.

Yoo Dong-gyu, president of the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, emphasized, "Based on this evaluation, all employees will devote their utmost efforts to creating social value and pursuing sustainability as a public institution, achieving both public interest and profitability."

Last year, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization achieved results such as receiving the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's comprehensive information disclosure evaluation 'Best,' winning the 'Governance' category in Gyeonggi Province public institution social responsibility management evaluation, and earning the highest integrity rating among Gyeonggi Province public institutions for two consecutive years.

In May, it also conducted the 'Good Travel Campaign' to support the tourism industry facing a crisis due to COVID-19, receiving recognition for presenting a 'virtuous cycle economic structure role model' in the tourism sector.
