[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter] An officer working at the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) has tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). This is the second case following an employee who tested positive on the 24th.
On the 29th, a government official stated, "Lieutenant Colonel Choi, from the Surveillance Electronic Contract Team, working on the 6th floor of Building 4 at the Gwacheon Government Complex in Gyeonggi Province, tested positive around 7 a.m. today," adding, "Lieutenant Colonel Choi's spouse also tested positive and is currently under epidemiological investigation."
The Gwacheon Government Complex Management Office has placed employees sharing the same office under self-quarantine and plans to urgently disinfect the office and common areas. Additional disinfection will also be conducted for the entire Buildings 3 and 4, where DAPA is housed, as well as the cafeteria. The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency's epidemiological investigation team will carry out further on-site measures and investigations. The Gwacheon Management Office is reviewing the employee's movements through CCTV within the complex and cooperating with relevant agencies to identify contacts.
On the 24th, a DAPA employee working on the 6th floor of Building 3 at the Gwacheon Government Complex tested positive for COVID-19. This employee had contact with a confirmed case after leaving work on the 18th. Following the contact's positive diagnosis, immediate self-quarantine and testing were conducted.
